Human resource is the livewire of every organization and this makes human resources managers the keepers of the organization's blood bank. The significance of this role is fully embodied by Etim, Asa Eyo. For her, HR is a lifestyle and calling, not just a job or career path. In her over ten years journey of this career, she had held steadfast to the significance of extoling the ethics and values of the profession. Her personal statement reads, “I am knowledgeable about people management and effective organizational planning. She currently oversees the Human Resources and Operational department of a Real Estate organization and works to implement programs and changes that enhance the company. Asa excels at this position and is able to connect with staff across board because of her diverse work experiences. After obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Calabar, she went on to get a Master’s in Business Administration, with a focus on international business at the Lincoln University, Oakland, California. For years, she was an IT consultant and support engineer, putting her computer science degree to full use before venturing into the nurturing world of Human Resources Management. In between her career switch, she took some time to volunteer. Her first major volunteering experience was at the African Union Commission, Ethiopia between 2012 and 2013. She assisted in the coordination of the "African Union Scientific Awards Programme" targeting young researchers at Member State level, women at regional level and open to all outstanding scientists at continental level. She also coordinated Research & Development, to collate and aggregate information on the Scientific Research frameworks in the continent. Asa also volunteered in the AU-JOCA volunteer program in Japan where she helped organize international understanding classes for the older people in the disaster area. She assisted Tono Education and Culture Foundation (TECF) in planning and implementing "furusato (or hometown) discovery youth program" for primary school children; aimed at enhancing social skills and promoting Tono culture and heritage). Asa is a licensed HR practitioner and an Associate member with the Chattered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM). She has also in the course of her HR career achieved a diploma in HR with Alison as well as certificate courses in Leadership, emotional intelligence and others too many to mention.
